Add a small delivery levy to fund local councils

With most households now using online ordering and delivery, a charge of up to 50 pence could be added to each delivery and paid to the council responsible for the delivery postcode. This money could be used to subsidise business rates for local shops and maintain the roads used by delivery vans. It could also encourage the consolidation of deliveries.

That’s a brilliant idea and would also encourage the delivery of multiple items at a time - which would reduce traffic and improve the environment. Love it.
