Privacy
The short version: we collect the minimum needed to run a community suggestion site, we don't run ads or sell data, and your ideas are public by design. The detail is below, in plain English.

What we collect
- Your email address — used to sign you in with a one-time code, and never shown publicly.
- Your nickname — shown next to your ideas. Pick anything; it doesn't need to identify you.
- Your ideas and votes — ideas are public, that's the point of the site. Individual votes are stored so you can't vote twice, and shown only as totals.
- Contact enquiries — whatever you put in the contact form, sent to us by email (see "Who processes it" below).
That's it. No ads, no analytics trackers, no data brokers. The only cookies are the ones that keep you signed in.
Who processes it
Like most small sites, we build on a few services rather than our own servers:
- Supabase stores accounts, ideas and votes in a database hosted in London (AWS eu-west-2).
- Cloudflare serves the website and, like any host, keeps short-lived technical logs (IP addresses, requests) to run and protect the service.
- Resend delivers our emails — sign-in codes and contact-form messages.
- Anthropic powers the AI helper. When you use "share an idea", the text you write (and the product name, if given) is sent to Anthropic's Claude API to polish the wording and suggest a category. Only that text is sent — never your email or account details. Anthropic retains API inputs for up to 30 days and doesn't train on them.
How long we keep it
Account details stay while your account exists. Ideas and votes stay published unless you ask us to remove them — a community voting record only works if it persists. Contact enquiries are kept as ordinary email correspondence.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and anything linked to it. Contact us and we'll sort it — no forms, no fuss. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the ICO.
Changes
Help Improve is a prototype and this policy will evolve with it. If we change something meaningful — a new processor, a new kind of data — we'll update this page and say so plainly, not bury it.
