Community guidelines

Help Improve works because people show up in good faith. These ground rules keep it constructive, kind and useful — for the community and for the organisations we hope will listen.

Be constructive

Every post should point towards a fix, not just a fault. "Let me set a charge limit at any percentage" beats "the battery settings are rubbish". If you're only here to vent, this isn't the place.

Be specific

Name the product or service, describe the situation, and say what would make it better. Specific ideas get votes — and stand a chance of being acted on.

Be kind

Criticise products and processes, never people. No abuse, harassment, mockery or pile-ons — including towards staff of the organisations being discussed.

Respect privacy

Don't post personal information — yours or anyone else's. No names of individual employees, no account numbers, no photos of people, no details from private correspondence.

One idea per post

A post with five ideas is hard to vote on — people may agree with two and not the rest. Split them up so each can find its own support.

No spam or self-promotion

No adverts, affiliate links, competitor bashing dressed up as feedback, or voting rings. Genuine ideas from people connected to a business are welcome if the connection is declared.

Keep it legal and honest

Nothing defamatory, discriminatory or unlawful. Say what you've actually experienced; don't present guesses as facts.

Vote honestly

Vote for ideas you genuinely support. Don't organise mass-voting campaigns — the point of the numbers is that they mean something.

Moderation

We may edit, move or remove content that breaks these guidelines, and suspend accounts that repeatedly do. We'd always rather nudge than remove — most problems are fixed with a friendly reword. If you think we've got a call wrong, or want to report something, contact us and a human will look at it.
